Growing tomatoes this summer? Try this to keep snails away!

In this quick video I'll be showing you how to keep snails from eating your tomato plants! Find the copper tape used in the video here: amzn.to/2KbUIlR

No snails were harmed while making this video, as I like snails. This method is way more humane than using poisons or traps, as they don't get harmed in the slightest. Enjoy the video everyone!

Just imagine what would happen to the snails if Electroboom decides to plant tomatoes this summer.

I love how the solution for the unpotted plant was to just build a pot.

Everything was fine... until the snails broke through our Defenses, they took our power plants, they took our tomatoes

Very cool. My garden is going to end up looking like a mission impossible obstacle course. 👍

Great video. Snails and slugs don’t copper on its own and will get repelled on touching it, but it needed to be a good quality and large enough to get a good reaction. I think that the copper tape that was used here might have been a lower quality tape to get a reaction to the first part of the circuit and therefore needed electrical part of the assembly to make the circuit. I think this is why this is not commercially available. However if you live in an area with higher level of acid rain and you are worried about sulphuric acid forming from the copper then I can see then benefits of this electric fence. I’m definitely going to give this ago.

Great idea, but the last iteration will probably get full of water with the first rain, probably damaging the battery. I'd just switch it upside-down and have the battery protected within the cover while the copper wire runs externally as you did. Will also look better 😀🤙

Thank you, this is very interesting and very well presented - as ever! Have you tried the scheme with 1.5V? I have wondered if one could use a strip of copper and zinc to make it self energising, the only problem is that zinc tape is an expensive specialised anti corrosion product.

Now snails will have stories about devils garden, with best tomatoes in the whole world. And myths about snails who never came back
